The White House announced Friday that U.S. President Joe Biden will attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Egypt to share «the important work» the United States has done in the fight against climate change.

Specifically, as detailed by the White House spokesperson, Karine Jean-Pierre, the U.S. president will visit the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh in order to highlight the measures taken by the Biden Administration in recent months with respect to the climate crisis.

«On November 11, President Biden will attend the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27) (…) will build on the important work the United States has undertaken to advance the global climate fight and help the most vulnerable build their resilience to climate impacts,» the White House spokesperson detailed.

Biden will also stress at the Climate Summit the «need» for the world to act «in this critical decade».

However, the U.S. President will also travel from November 13 to 16 to Indonesia, where the G20 Leaders’ Summit will take place, where he expects to address «key challenges» such as climate change, the global impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as well as its impact on energy and food security and affordability.
