Police in the United Kingdom arrested a man Wednesday after he threw several eggs at King Charles III during an event in the city of York where he unveiled a statue of his late mother, Elizabeth II.
The eggs, which did not hit the monarch, were thrown when he was walking next to Queen Camilla. According to the information gathered by the British newspaper ‘The Independent’, the man was shouting «this country was built with the blood of slaves» at the time of his arrest.
In addition to the throwing of eggs can be heard booing the monarch, although later some of those present have applauded Charles III and chanted «God save the king», as reported by the British television channel BBC.
