Three military personnel have been killed and two others injured by the activation of an explosive device in Abyan province, near Aden in southern Yemen.
Military sources quoted by the Yemeni portal South24 explained that the explosive device was planted in Wadi Oemran, formerly controlled by Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.
Last Thursday, another explosive was detonated in the same area which did not cause any casualties. The explosive was aimed at two senior members of the security forces.
Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula announced in mid-October, shortly after losing Wadi Oemran, the start of a bombing campaign against Yemeni military personnel.
