Ukrainian authorities reported Thursday the partial recovery of supplies that were disrupted Wednesday by a new wave of Russian attacks, responsible for water and electricity outages that have spread to different parts of the country.

The office of the president, Volodimir Zelenski, has reported that all regions are again receiving electricity supply, although it has not reached all customers at the same time. The government is prioritizing the infrastructure considered critical while asking households for patience.

The authorities have deployed some 4,000 emergency points where the population can connect to the grid and warm up, according to the UNIAN news agency.

In Kiev, its mayor, Vitali Klitschko, has confirmed that the water service is operational again, although «it will take some time» for it to work at full capacity. Klitschko has warned that the pressure may not be sufficient for the highest floors in buildings.

Zelenski himself stressed in his speech on Wednesday night that power grid workers and security services would be working «against the clock» to counter the effects of the latest shelling.

On Thursday, in a speech to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the Ukrainian president again denounced that Russia «is trying to leave millions of people without electricity, communication, heating and water».
