The U.S. base in the Syrian town of Al Shadadi of Green Village has been the target of three missed missiles that have fallen in the vicinity of the military facility, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed last Friday.

CENTCOM detailed that the explosions in the vicinity of the U.S. base — where hundreds of U.S. military personnel are stationed — caused no property damage or fatalities.

The U.S.-led international coalition has detailed that two of the projectiles were aimed at the base and that a third was later found in a damage survey.

«Attacks of this type endanger coalition forces and civilians and undermine the hard-won stability and security of Syria and the region,» said CENTCOM spokesman Joe Buccino, according to the U.S. central command missive.

A few days ago, the U.S.-led international coalition forces claimed a missile strike that also targeted the Green Village base in northeastern Syria, but did not cause any casualties or material damage.

Likewise, on September 19, another failed attack on a U.S. military base did not hit U.S. or coalition forces or equipment.

The base attacked is Green Village, located in areas controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) – whose main component is the Kurdish militia People’s Protection Units (YPG) – on the north bank of the Euphrates River. The site has been the target of other attacks in recent months by pro-Iranian militias.
