The Minister of Consumer Affairs, Alberto Garzón, has pledged to «synchronize agendas and develop the common political interests» that the Government of Spain has with the new Colombian Executive of Gustavo Petro in matters of sustainable and healthy consumption.

This was emphasized by Garzón at the end of his official visit to Bogota, where he held «very satisfactory and stimulating» meetings with members of the Colombian government, such as the Minister of Labor, Gloria Inés Ramírez, and the Minister of Environment and Social Development, Susana Muhamad.

«In addition to getting a first-hand impression of the first steps of a progressive government, we have been able to share common political interests and learn about practices aimed at promoting, for example, healthy and sustainable consumption,» explained the minister.

For Garzón, the actions of the new Executive of Gustavo Petro in these matters are being «exemplary», so he has shown his interest in «replicating» in Spain some of these practices. For this reason, both governments have agreed to hold new meetings in the coming months.

The Minister of Consumer Affairs has also valued the «reflections and experiences» that he has been able to share these days with the members of the political parties that make up the new Colombian government.
