Moldova’s Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita visited the Ukrainian cities of Bucha and Irpin on Tuesday and reiterated her commitment to Ukraine after lamenting the harsh consequences of the war for the civilian population.

«I have visited Bucha and Irpin. With my own eyes I have seen burned houses, schools, kindergartens and destroyed roads. But the most painful thing has been to see crosses in the gardens. Not a single photo or video can do justice to what I have witnessed firsthand,» he stressed.

Thus, he condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine and insisted that Moldova «remains a friendly partner of the country», to which it will continue to provide assistance, Ukrinform Ukrainian news agency reported.

Gavrilita has indicated that he supports the opening of an international investigation into war crimes committed in Ukraine. «Every citizen of Ukraine, especially women and children who have been subjected to cruel and inhuman treatment, deserve justice,» he said.

The head of the Moldovan executive has indicated that she will meet with her Ukrainian counterpart Denis Shmigal and several members of the government. «We agree to address different issues, ranging from energy and transport to education, as well as the European integration of Moldova and Ukraine,» she said.
