Kosovar Prime Minister Albin Kurti denounced Tuesday night an intensification of attacks in northern Kosovo and announced that he is considering deploying more police officers to the area.

«Criminal gangs have intensified attacks in northern Kosovo (…). The Kosovo government neither negotiates with them nor tolerates them. The bombs they throw, the bullets they fire (…) are their political and popular impotence», Kurti has assured through a publication on his Facebook account.

Kurti pointed out that the «numerous violations of the law will not be forgiven», while «destabilizing tendencies will fail».

«With these attacks in northern Ibri, we will probably have more Kosovo police there. Because there will be investigations and prosecutions for these criminals, who are paid by Serbia and led by its president,» the Kosovar ‘premier’ has criticized.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has criticized Kosovo’s sending armed policemen. «One wonders what day some new provocation will occur that could disturb stability and peace,» he said in statements reported by the Serbian radio station B92.

«It is good that, at least, according to the current data, there are no casualties, we believe that it will remain (so),» Vucic added.

CLASHES IN ELECTION COMMISSIONS Militants allegedly Serbs have attacked election workers and police officers in northern Kosovo, in the regions of North Mitrovica and Zubin Potok on Tuesday, reports dpa.

The assailants fired in the air and police officers detonated explosive devices in a controlled manner. In addition, an election commission office has been destroyed, reports Kosovo Online.
