The president of the Workers’ Party (PT), Gleisi Hoffmann, announced on Thursday that the president-elect, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, should announce the first names of his cabinet this Friday, putting an end to weeks of speculation about who will accompany him in his new stage.

Hoffmann said that Lula has decided to reveal some of the names of his next government due to the «strong speculation» that has been generated around it, since he was initially expected to announce several of his ministers on the 12th after receiving the credentials from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).

In that sense, the president of the PT has said that Lula will inform on Friday of those names of which he is already sure, among whom could be the senator of the Brazilian Socialist Party (PSB) Flavio Dino to assume Justice, or Fernando Haddad to lead the Ministry of Finance.

Among those who could leave this first list is also the former judge of the Union Court of Auditors, José Múcio, to head the Ministry of Defense.

At the insistence of the press, last week Lula already said that he planned to announce some names on December 12 after receiving the credentials of his electoral triumph from the TSE and that he already had «in his head» 80 percent of his cabinet for the following years.
