Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar acknowledged on Wednesday the possibility that, already at the beginning of 2023, a new mobilization decree will be announced to strengthen the Armed Forces in the framework of the Russian invasion.

According to Maliar, there is a «need» to replace the soldiers who have been wounded, as well as to give relief to those who have been fighting since the first stages of the war, started by Russia at the end of February.

In declarations to the television channel 1+1 and picked up by the UNIAN agency, the deputy minister recognized that it is still «difficult to predict» when the mobilization will be announced, and if it will finally be carried out, since the measure depends at all times on the situation on the front.

These statements by Maliar come a day after Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dimitro Kuleba warned of the possibility of Russia launching a new large-scale offensive also during the first months of next year.
