The Kremlin on Thursday described as «anti-Russian hysteria» the decision of Poland’s Parliament to recognize Russia as a country sponsoring terrorism, a decision taken in the midst of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The spokesman for the Russian Presidency, Dimitri Peskov, has indicated that Russia «is not prepared to accept such actions» and has stressed that «the matter is treated as what it is: hysteria», as reported by the Interfax news agency.
The Polish Parliament adopted on Wednesday a resolution on the matter that also points to Russia as «directly responsible» for the downing of flight MH17 that took place in July 2014 in eastern Ukraine.
In addition, Polish deputies have held the country responsible for the crash that took place in April 2010 when the plane carrying the then President of Poland Lech Kaczynski crashed in the Smolensk airfield in Russia. All passengers were killed.
In connection with this matter, Peskov has indicated that «Polish authorities simply refuse to face the truth and acknowledge the reality of this tragic incident.»
