The head of Ukraine’s military intelligence services, Kirilo Budanov, said Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ill with cancer and assured that the president does not have long to live.
«Of course. He has been ill for a long time,» he replied to a question about the Russian president’s state of health during an interview with ABC, reported by the Ukrinform news agency.
Putin’s state of health has been the subject of speculation for months after he was seen in several public appearances with apparent mobility problems, suspicions that resurfaced especially after the meeting he held in the Kremlin with French President Emmanuel Macron in February.
Indeed, CIA chief William Burns claimed as early as July that there is no evidence to suggest Putin is ill. «As far as I can tell, he’s too healthy,» Burns said then during the Aspen Security Forum before adding that his assessments «do not presume a judgment of (the Intelligence services).»
