The President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro Urrego, has arrived in Chile on Monday for an official visit that includes a meeting with his Chilean counterpart, Gabriel Boric, at the Palacio de La Moneda.
This will be the second meeting between the two leaders after the meeting they held the day after Petro’s inauguration as president of Colombia at the Casa de Nariño, on August 8.
Petro has also scheduled meetings with the presidents of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of Chile. He will also meet with the mayor of Santiago, Irací Hassler, reports Colombian broadcaster RTVC.
This is Petro’s third official trip so far this year, after participating in the inauguration of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and his trip this Saturday to Venezuela, where he met with President Nicolás Maduro.
During the month of January Petro will also travel to Davos, Switzerland, to participate in the World Economic Forum, and to Buenos Aires, to attend the meeting of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC). He will then travel to Ecuador and meet with President Guillermo Lasso.
