The Vice President of Argentina, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, met this Monday with former Bolivian President Evo Morales in Buenos Aires, where they discussed the «reality of Latin America and the region».
«It is a meeting that has taken place in the fraternal framework of the political friendship that both leaders maintain,» said the spokespersons of the Argentine Senate.
However, sources close to the Vice President have indicated that this meeting is not of a formal nature, but rather a dialogue between two political leaders. «Evo comes almost every week», they have ironized about the frequency of the meetings between the two.
The meeting between Kirchner and Morales took place minutes after the meeting of the Argentine ‘number two’ with the President of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, in the framework of the VII Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
Kirchner and Castro met for the last time a year ago, on January 26, 2022, at the inauguration of the first woman to hold the Presidency of Honduras, reports the newspaper ‘La Nación’.
