The former American player Shawn Kemp, NBA star in the 90s and six-time ‘All Star’, was arrested Wednesday for his alleged connection to a shooting that occurred in Pierce County (Washington), according to the website of the network ‘ESPN’.
The former Seattle Supersonics center, with whom he played in the 1996 Finals in a 4-2 loss to Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls, was booked by authorities on a felony drive-by shooting charge Wednesday afternoon, ESPN said.
Hours earlier, the Tacoma Police Department had reported on social media an incident between the occupants of two vehicles near a local shopping center in which shots had been fired, though no one was injured and one of the cars had fled. A gun had been recovered and an investigation had been opened.
Kemp played 14 seasons in the American league, the first eight, between 1989 and 1997 with the Supersonics where he formed a good team with point guard Gary Payton. He was also a world champion with his country in 1994.
