Norway has delivered eight Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine as part of its commitment to fight the Russian invasion, the Norwegian Army has confirmed.

Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram has assured that supporting Ukraine is »important for Norwegian and European security». Norway pledged in January to join the international donation of armed vehicles.

EUROPEAN COOPERATION WITH UKRAINE CONTINUES Also on Monday, European Union foreign and defense ministers reached an agreement on a plan for joint purchases of artillery ammunition and missiles to replenish the stocks of European armies and ensure the sustainable supply needed by Ukraine in the context of the Russian war of aggression.

The plan was presented at the meeting by the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy, Josep Borrell, and the attendees gave their support to it, which seeks to mobilize within one year a total of one million 155-millimeter caliber shells for Ukraine, several diplomatic sources have informed Europa Press.

»I am grateful to all our partners in Europe! To all those who want a strong and free Europe», Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski stressed in response to the European decision.

The Ukrainian leader stressed that this is »a strategic step». »It gives us confidence in our unity, in the immutability of the movement towards the victory over the terrorist state,» he explained.
