The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has warned that Russia may be planning new attacks on Kiev and the «liquidation» of the leaders in charge of Ukraine’s political and military management.
«One of the options for the so-called overthrow of the constitutional system of Ukraine is the capture of Kiev and liquidation of the military-political management,» Deputy Head of the Operations Department of the Ukrainian General Staff, Oleksei Gromov, has said.
Gromov stressed that these possible attacks could come from the north, from Belarusian territory, as the Russian troops are unable to advance on the southern and eastern lines, where they are strongly opposed by the Ukrainian Army.
Nevertheless, even if Russia attacks from its Belarusian partner, the military high command considers that Moscow will not be able to advance as fast as it did during the early stages of the war, as Ukrainian soldiers are now more experienced in combat.
