The Kremlin on Tuesday accused the UK authorities of coordinating and perpetrating the September sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines, a «terrorist attack» in the eyes of Moscow, which continues to present no evidence of its suspicions about London.
The spokesman of the Russian Presidency, Dimitri Peskov, has insisted that there is evidence linking the United Kingdom with the sabotage of Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 as well as with an attack on the Russian fleet in the Black Sea, both extremes denied by the British government.
Peskov has lamented the «inadmissible silence» of European governments and anticipated measures, according to the Interfax news agency. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s chief spokesman has not clarified the scope of these reprisals.
Moscow has alluded to the attack in the Black Sea as an argument for suspending the agreement signed to export grain from Ukraine, one of the few rapprochements between the parties since Putin launched the military offensive on February 24.
