Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, who has revalidated his seat for six more years after beating Democratic candidate Charlie Crist, has hinted at his victory party about his candidacy for the 2024 Presidential election, launching a message to his possible rival, Donald Trump.

«We have accomplished more than anyone thought possible four years ago. But we have much more to do and I have only begun to fight,» DeSantis said in his speech at the election rally to his supporters, as reported by CNN.

The Republican governor, who beat Crist by more than 1.5 million votes, said that although the Biden Administration is «shaking» the leadership of the United States at the international level, Florida «is on the right path».

«I believe that the survival of the American experiment requires a rebirth of true American principles (…). Florida has shown that it can be done. We offer a glimmer of hope that better days are still ahead,» he added.

After his words, the crowd began to chant the slogan «two more years», insinuating that the Florida governor will remain in office only until 2024, when he will run for president.

DeSantis, however, has not referred to Trump, who has expressed his displeasure with the governor, since he could be his rival in the Republican Party primaries.

In fact, during a rally in the state of Pennsylvania last Sunday, Trump mocked DeSantis by referring to him as «Ron DeSanturron.»

«We’re winning big in the Republican Party for the nomination like nobody has ever seen before,» Trump said before running down the list of other Republicans who could challenge him in 2024.

«There it is, Trump at 71 percent, Ron DeSanturrón at 10 percent,» the former president said as he read the approval numbers of various Republican leaders.
