Russian President Vladimir Putin has called on the authorities to respond to the needs of the Armed Forces and to raise security standards in the Army to match the «real needs» arising from the invasion of Ukraine unleashed on February 24.
Thus, he stressed that the goal is to «raise the standards of material supply to the Russian Armed Forces, other troops, military formations and agencies with the real needs arising during the special military operation, taking into account the intensity of use of material assets.»
The order is included in a document published by the Kremlin on its website following a meeting held last week with the Coordinating Council of the Government and states that the authorities must submit by November 14 the definition of «target» to meet these needs.
It also states that, in order to improve the quality of the products sent to the troops deployed in Ukraine, a special mechanism should be formed to «ensure effective and efficient exchange of information between the units directly involved in the special military operation and the manufacturers of weapons and military equipment and materiel.»
Putin has also ordered the government to submit by Friday proposals to control the costs of the invasion in order to «ensure control over budget spending on activities that will ensure that the special military operation is carried out,» the Russian news agency TASS reported.
Finally, he called on the Ministry of Finance to determine the amount of additional economic support needed by the country’s regions, including those located on the border with Ukraine and where a «terrorist alert» is in force, «at the expense of funds from the General Budget».
