Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dimitro Kuleba has called for the convening of an Atlantic Alliance summit, with the participation of Ukrainian representatives, as the bloc’s main response to the alleged Russian missile strike on Polish territory.

Kuleba asserted that the response to the «Russian actions» should be «tough and principled», therefore he requested the participation of Ukraine in this hypothetical NATO meeting convened to «elaborate further joint actions».

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister considers that this summit, and the consequent measures taken, would force Russia to «change course in the escalation», as he has emphasized in his official profile on the social network Twitter.

In the same vein, he has requested the supply of military aircraft – F-15 and F-16 models – as well as air defense systems, so that the Ukrainian Armed Forces can «intercept any Russian missile».

«Today, protecting Ukraine’s skies means protecting NATO,» Minister Kuleba concluded.

Polish media reported Tuesday the death of two people in Przewodow, Lublin province, after the possible impact of two stray rockets.

Russia’s neighbors Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia have blamed Moscow for the incident in the border town and pointed out that NATO territory must be defended from external attacks.

The episode comes on a day when Russia has launched a new wave of attacks on the western territory of Ukraine. Kiev, Lviv and many other cities have been the scene of Russian offensives, which have mainly targeted energy infrastructures.
