Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dimitro Lubinets has described as «frightening» the scale of human rights violations recorded in the Kherson region after the withdrawal of Russian troops.

«Today I talked to a guy who was held in one place for 45 days and tortured. At that time, he saw dozens of people being tortured. They were beaten with electricity, metal pipes, their bones were broken, and all this happened on camera, i.e. the Russians filmed everything,» he has indicated.

In this regard, Lubinets said that the Russian military «seems to get some satisfaction when they kill and torture» Ukrainians, saying that he has not seen such scale of violations even in the Kharkov and Kiev regions, Ukrinform news agency reported.

According to him, there are currently two torture chambers in Kherson where dozens of people were allegedly tortured and even killed. He said he was sure that such places will be found in other areas of Ukraine, as these systems are specially designed by Russia to «kill civilians».

The Ukrainian Human Rights Commissioner has also stated that there is information about a large mass grave in the Kherson region. «We will also demand the creation of a separate court to condemn such actions,» he has emphasized.
