The colonoscopy that the Argentine President, Alberto Fernández, underwent this Saturday did not reveal «lesions with active bleeding», so he will be able to gradually resume his activities.

«The President of the Nation, Doctor D. Alberto Ángel Fernández has undergone endoscopic controls on this day, NO lesions with active bleeding were found. He is advised to rest and to gradually resume his work activities. I will keep the public opinion informed of the medical evolution of the President’s health», explains the medical report signed by Federico Saavedra and reported by the Argentine news agency Télam.

This test was carried out after the episode of erosive gastritis he suffered during his trip to Bali to attend the G-20 leaders’ summit. The Argentine president suffered from hypotension and dizziness while he was talking with the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez.

Fernández was taken in an ambulance to the Sanglah General Hospital in Bali, accompanied by the Indonesian Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin; the Argentine doctor Manuel Estigarribia, from the Presidential Medical Unit, and the Secretaries General of the Presidency, Julio Vitobello, and of Press and Communication, Gabriela Cerruti.

The blood test and the endoscopy performed showed erosive gastritis with signs of bleeding, for which reason Fernandez cancelled some activities planned within the framework of the G-20 leaders’ summit.

Fernandez arrived in Argentina early Friday morning from Madrid, a stop on a tour that, besides Indonesia, took him to France, where he attended the 5th Paris Forum for Peace.
