At least eight people have been killed and ten injured when a car bomb exploded inside a car in the Afghan city of Mazari Sharif, located in the northern Afghan province of Balj.
At around 7.00 a.m. (local time) a bus carrying company workers was the target of a car bomb explosion, leaving at least eight dead and ten wounded, according to the Afghan news agency AVA.
According to the head of the Abu Ali Sinai Hospital, Merajuddin Farooqi, the wounded have been taken to the hospital for urgent care.
So far it is not known how the explosion took place and no individual or group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
The blast comes after 19 people were killed in an attack on Wednesday at a religious school in the Afghan town of Aybak, in the northern province of Samangan, according to regional authorities.
