The president of Chile, Gabriel Boric, has launched this Tuesday a message to the citizenship so that, giving an «example of civic responsibility», they voluntarily surrender to the authorities the weapons they have in their possession.
The president launched this message in the framework of an inspection of the destruction process of all the weapons seized by the authorities throughout the year and of those weapons voluntarily surrendered.
«This year we have increased by 28 percent the weapons that we are going to destroy in comparison with the year 2021, which means almost 3,900 weapons destroyed more than last year», celebrated President Boric, according to T13 channel.
At this point, the president praised the attitude of those Chileans who have surrendered their weapons «voluntarily and responsibly», something that he considers should be an example to follow because «it is good for society».
