
Mexican authorities have found the bodies of six people found in three clandestine graves in the town of Zitácuaro, Michoacán, 150 kilometers from the country’s capital.
The six victims, who have not yet been identified, have been transferred to the Forensic Medical Service, according to the Michoacán State Attorney General’s Office, which has announced the start of an investigation to clarify the facts.
A specialized unit moved to the scene, where, at first, the bodies of two men were found. «At a distance of three meters, they found a spot of disturbed earth, so when an excavation was carried out, the body of a third victim was located,» reads the statement. After that, a mound of earth was located in which three other men were found.
As reported by the Mexican news agency Reforma, Michoacán has had a violent start to the year, with the murder of 23 people.
