Brazil’s former President Jair Bolsonaro left the AdventHealth Celebration hospital, located outside the U.S. city of Orlando, on Tuesday, against the recommendation of the medical team.

After being admitted during the day on Monday for severe abdominal pain related to a stab wound he suffered during the 2018 election campaign, he would have left the hospital, despite the fact that doctors would have urged him to remain another three or four days admitted, as reported by the Brazilian newspaper ‘O Globo’.

According to a doctor who attended him, Bolsonaro has not gone in perfect health to the house where he is staying in Orlando, since he is still not able to eat a pasty diet.

Meanwhile, the former Brazilian president said that he has left the hospital after being discharged.

Previously, Bolsonaro confirmed on the social network Twitter that he was admitted for intestinal pains, thanking the prayers and messages of speedy recovery received.

«After being stabbed in (the municipality of) Juiz de For a, I underwent five surgeries. Since the last one, I have had twice more ailments that have led me to other medical procedures», detailed the former head of state.

He has also been hospitalized several times for abdominal pains in the past. In July 2021 and in January and March of last year, the former president suffered the same problem. On those occasions, the possibility of surgery was also suggested, although it was not necessary to operate.

This latest hospitalization of Bolsonaro comes just one day after hundreds of supporters stormed the seat of state powers in Brasilia, in an episode similar to the one experienced on January 6, 2021 at the U.S. Capitol.
