The Secretariat of Penal Measures, Reinsertion and Attention to the Victim of the Generalitat has agreed to transfer the footballer Dani Alves to Brians 2 prison, in Sant Esteve Sesrovires (Barcelona), to «better guarantee security and coexistence», prison sources have explained to Europa Press.
Alves is in provisional prison since Friday for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in a nightclub in Barcelona on December 30, and during the weekend he has been in the module of income of Brians 1, also in Sant Esteve Sesrovires, a prison for remand prisoners.
Brians 2, where Alves has been transferred this Monday morning, is a prison for convicts but there are also some remand prisoners, like the player.
The change has been decided because Brians 2 «has smaller residential modules, which allows to better ensure security and coexistence»: In this prison there are an average of 80 inmates per module, while in Brians 1 there are about 200 in each one.
The aforementioned sources have remarked that the crime for which he is investigated «has not been a factor to take into account» to agree on the transfer.
INCOME MODULE
Once arrived at Brians 2, Alves will pass a personal search and his belongings and he will be visited by the workers of the center, such as the doctor, the psychologist and the educator.
During this procedure, which can last up to five days, he will be in the admission module and then the center’s professionals will decide to which module he will be assigned.
