A 65-year-old man has killed his 19-year-old daughter in a new case of «honor» killing in the Pakistani city of Karachi after discovering she had married without his consent.
Karachi Police Superintendent Shabbir Ahmed Sethar has reported the incident, in which a senior police commander, Imran Zaman, and a 20-year-old man were also injured, reports Pakistani daily ‘Dawn’.
The injured and the body of the girl were taken to the Dr. Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital in Karachi. The person responsible for the shooting, Amir Yan Mehsud, has been arrested.
«The victim had married a man, a doctor, of her own free will and her father killed her allegedly for honor,» Sethar has explained.
