
At least 25 people were killed and dozens more injured on Saturday when a bus plunged off the Los Órganos-Negritos highway in the Piura region of northern Peru.
Police reported that a vehicle belonging to the company Q’Orianka Tours Águila Dorada went off the road while carrying 60 passengers, according to the Peruvian newspaper ‘Correo’.
The passengers were thrown out of the windows of the vehicle as a consequence of the accident. The accident reportedly occurred at approximately 6:00 a.m. in the morning.
For the moment, the bodies remain scattered at the accident site, while the injured have been evacuated to the hospitals of El Alto and Mancora.
