Ukrainian authorities have denounced on Saturday the impact of several missiles on the region of the city of Zaporiyia, specifically against a »critical infrastructure».

The Zaporiyia Military Administration explained on Telegram that it was an attack »against a vital facility» in the center of the region and stressed that appropriate response means have already been mobilized, Ukrinform news agency reported.

Hundreds of thousands of civilians live there, many of whom have had to leave their homes and flee from the Russian occupation,» the Ukrainian military administration said. The UNIAN news agency confirmed two explosions and said the shells were launched from Tokmak.

»Today, in broad daylight, the enemy has again attacked Zaporiyia», denounced the mayor of Zaporiyia, Anatoli Kurtev, who confirmed an arson attack by a Russian shell in the center of the region.

Zaporiyia is a town in eastern Ukraine controlled by Ukrainian forces, but should not be confused with the Zaporiyia nuclear power plant, which has been under Russian control for a year. On March 9, Russia launched a wave of missile attacks on Kiev, Nikolaev, Kharkov, Odessa, Zaporiyia, Yitomir, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnitsky, Ternopil and Lviv.

Russian Defense Minister Oleksi Reznikov denounced on Saturday that Russia has launched more than 820 cruise missiles towards Ukraine since October 2022.

Meanwhile, Moscow has reported military victories in Prechistovka and Ugledar, in the Donetsk region, near Zaporiyia, with aviation attacks and artillery fire that would have cost the lives of 70 Ukrainian servicemen and would have destroyed three armored vehicles, a car and a D-20 howitzer.

Finally, the Ukrainian electricity company Ukrenergo announced the end of the restrictions on electricity supply in Kiev imposed to stabilize the system.
