Canadian police on the Akwesasne Indian Reservation found six bodies, including a child, in the St. Lawrence River in southeastern Canada on Thursday, the police said in a statement.
The first body was located around 5 p.m. local time in a swampy area of the Akwesasne reserve, so local police conducted a search of the area with the assistance of the Coast Guard and the Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department.
Police are currently awaiting the results of ‘post mortem’ and toxicology tests to determine the causes of the deaths and to be able to identify the deceased.
They added that there is no risk to the public and that they will continue to report further developments.
