At least 14 people have been killed and 25 injured following a traffic accident involving a passenger bus and a heavy transport vehicle after colliding on a road in central Egypt on Wednesday.
The accident occurred on the road between Kharijah and Asiut in central Egypt, Egyptian news portal Shorouk News reported. General Mohamed Abu al Layl, from the New Valley emergency services, confirmed the incident and reported that the injured have been transferred to Al-Kharijah Hospital.
In addition, the governor of New Valley, Mohamed al Zamlot, detailed that 17 ambulances were involved in the operation and work is already underway to clear the road.
Work is also being carried out on the removal of the bodies and the investigation to determine the causes of the accident, which are still unknown.
