PSG condemns «intolerable and insulting» actions on Wednesday by a «small group» of fans
French club Paris Saint-Germain strongly condemned «the intolerable and insulting actions» experienced on Wednesday by a «small group» of fans who showed their anger towards the club and players such as Leo Messi and Neymar Jr.
Offensive chants towards several players
As reported by ‘L’Equipe’, about 400 fans of the Parisian team stood up at the club’s headquarters after a call by the PSG ultras. There, they protested the current direction of the Ligue 1 champion and uttered offensive chants.
Messi-focused shouting
These shouts were focused on Messi, who was sanctioned by the club for his trip to Saudi Arabia without permission and called a «mercenary» and for whom they called for his dismissal, Neymar, Marco Verratti and coach Christophe Galtier. They even went to the Brazilian striker’s home in the capital.
The club condemns the intolerable actions
«Paris Saint-Germain condemns in the strongest terms the intolerable and insulting actions of a small group of people, which took place this Wednesday. Whatever the differences, nothing can justify such acts.»
The club’s full support to its players
«The club gives its full support to its players, its management and all those affected by these disgraceful behaviors,» PSG said in a statement.
