Hospitalized
The newspapers ‘Le Figaro’ and ‘Le Point’ have reported that Le Pen has been hospitalized on Saturday afternoon after suffering an ailment while at his Rueil-Malmaison, in Hauts-de-Seine.
Possible heart problem
«A great fatigue, perhaps of a cardiac type, justifies his immediate hospitalization by decision of his doctors,» explained a friend of Le Pen quoted by ‘Le Point’.
Interviews up to last week
Le Pen was last hospitalized in February 2022 after a transient ischemic attack, a mild form of stroke. Once overcome the historic ultra right-wing leader gave no concrete signs of weakness and even received the press for interviews until last week.
Candidate for the French Presidency
He was a candidate for the French Presidency on as many as five occasions, but had not held any position of responsibility since leaving his seat in the European Parliament in 2019. He did continue to participate as a talk show host or commentator.
