Two people killed in Madrid hit by hit-and-run car
Two people have lost their lives and two others have been injured after being run over at different points of Paseo de Extremadura in Madrid by a speeding vehicle.
The car was fleeing from a police checkpoint
According to police sources, the events occurred shortly before 13.00 hours and the driver, who allegedly fled after the incident, could have been fleeing from a police checkpoint when the atrocities took place.

Witnesses to the multiple hit-and-run incident commented to the media and the police on the speed at which the vehicle was traveling and the violence of the impacts.
Common criminals
The perpetrators of the hit-and-run are two common criminals who were fleeing from the police in a speeding car. The driver of the vehicle was arrested after turning himself in at a National Police station.
Priors for robberies
The man, identified as P.V.S., 31 years old, had fled on foot after the fatal attacks. Sources of the investigation have pointed out that he did not have a valid driver’s license and had a previous record for robberies. Two other occupants were detained at the scene, a man injured with bruises and a woman who was traveling with an eight-month-old baby, the latter two unharmed.
