The 23-year-old PSG striker was left with nothing to show for his efforts, even though he scored his first hat-trick in the decisive match since 1966. In two World Cups, Mbappé has scored 12 goals and, given his youth and quality, will have time to continue to add to his tally, although he will carry the thorn of Qatar with him.
