Another year of Easter celebrations at the White House
U.S. President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden opened the White House lawns Monday for thousands of children to play Easter egg races.
Easter Egg Roll’ takes place
Every Easter Monday, the presidential residence hosts the famous «Easter Egg Roll,» a children’s game in which youngsters search for colorfully painted eggs and then push them to a finish line with the help of a wooden spoon.
The tradition was interrupted for two years by the pandemic.
This tradition, interrupted two years by the covid-19 pandemic, was started by President Rutherford Hayes, who, in 1878 first opened the gates to a group of children after Congress banned playing on the Capitol lawn.
