Aerosmith to bid farewell to the stage with ‘Peace out’ tour after 50 years of career
Aerosmith, the legendary American rock band, announced that it is on its farewell tour with a series of 40 concerts in North America, which will feature a special appearance by The Black Crowes. In a joint statement, the band said that this tour is not a farewell, but rather a «peace out», and that their fans will be able to enjoy the best show of their lives.
Joey Kramer will not be on tour
However, the band also revealed that drummer Joey Kramer will not be joining them on this tour. Despite being a founding and beloved member, Kramer has decided to focus on his family and health, which was lamented by the band in their statement. Aerosmith fans will greatly miss Kramer’s legendary presence behind his drum kit.
Claim for breach of contract
Kramer recently filed suit against the band for breach of contract, claiming he was being prevented from performing after suffering «minor injuries» the previous spring. The band decided to play without him at the MusiCares Person of the Year Awards and the 2020 Grammy Awards, prompting an injunction that Kramer lost.
Tour of the United States
Aerosmith recently wrapped its Las Vegas residency, «Aerosmith: Deuces Are Wild,» at Dolby Live at Park MGM. The new tour, which will be produced by Live Nation, will kick off in Philadelphia on Sept. 2 and will have stops in the U.S. and Canada, including the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, Madison Square Garden in New York, the Moody Center in Austin, the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, the United Center in Chicago and Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, among others, before wrapping up in Montreal at the Bell Centre on Jan. 26.
Special concert in Boston
In addition, the band has planned a special concert in their hometown of Boston to celebrate New Year’s Day 2023.
