Spanish coach Luis Enrique Martínez acknowledged on Wednesday that he was «very proud» of his time in charge of the Spanish national team, although he admitted that he made «many mistakes», while confessing that he had not seen either of the national team’s two matches in the Euro qualifiers and spoke of his «attraction» to coaching in the Premier League.

«There are vermin and vultures taking advantage of their second of glory, I don’t care. I am very proud of my time as coach. I made many mistakes. I’m not interested in debates, they are gratuitous, made by people with a brutal lack of knowledge and information,» said the coach during an interview with the SER Asturias channel, picked up by Europa Press.
Has not followed the Spanish national team since it left
The coach also confessed that he has not followed the national team since he stepped down after the World Cup. «I haven’t seen either of the two games, I was caught in South Africa. You realize that, when you are not there, things are different. And they have to be different, everyone has to go their own way,» he said. In this sense, the Asturian acknowledged that since his departure from the national team he has stopped reading the Spanish press and social networks. «Another thing I’ve done since the end of the World Cup and the Cape Epic is that I don’t use social networks. I don’t look at the Spanish press or social networks. I only read English press,» he said.

«When you are the coach, you dominate all the information, much more than journalists or fans. You have to make decisions and accept the results. Depending on the results, you are going to be treated one way or another. I have this very well assimilated, it doesn’t keep me awake at night. I know the things I have to do and how I have to do them,» he added.
No volverá a Twitch
However, the coach valued positively his time on Twitch during the World Cup in Qatar, although he assured that he will not return to streaming. «Thanks to the streaming sessions during the World Cup, which was a bomb that exploded during that time, we were able to receive the affection of the fans both players and myself. One thing is what the media says and another is the reality, and the streamings served to bring players and fans closer together. It was a very positive experiment,» he acknowledged.
Enjoys his life outside of soccer
«Twitch was an experiment that went the way it went and it was very positive. I don’t know if I’ll be back, I don’t think so. I like more to enjoy these moments when you are not part of the news. I really enjoy being a coach, but I also enjoy my life outside of soccer. I don’t know when I will return to coaching, it will depend on whether I have interesting offers. But I enjoy both my lives,» he said.
She enjoys the Premier League
Asked about his return to the dugout, the former coach spoke of his liking for the Premier League and the interest shown by several national teams to hire his services. «I have a special attraction for England, I would like to go to England to work. But I’m not going to deceive you, I’m not going to go to just any team. I would like to go to a team that can do important things. So, I don’t have any illusions. But that doesn’t mean I’m not going to coach in Spain,» he stressed.
Sin ofertas de Brasil
«I haven’t had any offers at the team level to date, but I do know of the interest of some national teams. But I don’t rule out coaching a national team. I don’t think I’m the right kind of coach for a national team like Brazil. Nobody from Brazil has called me. You know that the media go so fast that a rumor becomes news. I love quality players, I always choose them. But I don’t know if my style is the best for a national team of that level,» he concluded.
