Russian Deputy Interior Minister Igor Zubov and Malian Minister of Security and Civil Protection Daoud Ali Mohammedine signed a security cooperation agreement on Monday.
«The parties have touched upon the current issues of development in Russian-Malian cooperation in the security sphere. An agreement on cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Security and Civil Protection of the Republic of Mali has been signed» , the Russian Ministry said in a statement published on Telegram.
Following these contacts the parties have expressed their readiness to continue cooperation on issues of mutual interest. In recent weeks the United Kingdom, Germany and France have withdrawn their troops in Mali, in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), due to the coups d’état in Mali and the alignment of the authorities with the Wagner Group, an organization of Russian mercenaries.
