Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky on Sunday remarked on Ukraine’s peace proposal, while taking on Russia for its «empty rhetoric».
«I will say at once that Ukraine’s peace formula is perceived extremely positively in the world. It is quite constructive and realistic, in contrast to the empty and mendacious Russian rhetoric about its readiness for some kind of negotiations,» the Ukrainian leader said.
Zelensky assured that his executive will do «everything possible to make the world accept the Ukrainian peace formula», he said in the evening video he has been recording daily to address the nation since Russia launched its invasion on February 24.
In this line, the Ukrainian leader has informed that «there will be several important international addresses» during this week.
The Ukrainian president made this statement after participating in the Summit of Francophone Countries held this Sunday.
«These are more than 50 participating countries and more than 20 observer countries. Africa, Asia, America, Europe: everywhere they listen to Ukraine, everywhere they know our proposals on how to restore peace in Ukraine and how to restore stability in the world,» he asserted.
CONTRIBUTION TO WORLD FOOD SECURITY Zelensky also used this speech to celebrate the Day of Agricultural Workers, which is celebrated in Ukraine on the third Sunday of November.
«Was there ever an international context to this day (to celebrate Farm Workers’ Day)? This year there definitely is. Many people are seeing how important the contribution of Ukrainians to the country’s food security is,» the president has argued.
Thus, he remarked that «the lives of millions of people in different countries directly depend» on the Ukrainian agricultural sector. «I thank all our people who work in the field, who provide Ukraine and the world with the essentials,» he added.
