Former U.S. President Donald Trump has lashed out at the nation’s Supreme Court after it rejected his appeal Tuesday to try to prevent the Internal Revenue Service from turning over his tax returns to a House committee.

«Why would anyone be surprised that the Supreme Court has ruled against me?» the former president has questioned with irony through his profile on Truth Social, the social network that he himself promoted after being expelled from Twitter and where he now seems to have been readmitted.

Thus, Trump has asserted that there are no precedents in the history of the United States of any president who has had to deliver his tax returns, which could now fall into the hands of the Democrats who dominate the aforementioned committee of the House of Representatives.

The tycoon has reproached that the Supreme Court’s decision «creates a terrible precedent for future presidents», and has questioned that the current president, Joe Biden, has regularized «all the money he earned illegally» thanks to the corrupt activities of his son Hunter, according to The Hill.

«The Supreme Court has lost its honor, prestige and position, and has become nothing more than a political body, with our country paying the price,» denounced Trump, who has used the occasion to revive his conspiracy theory about the results of the 2020 presidential election. «They refused to even look at the electoral deception – shame on them!» he has denounced.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected an appeal filed by Trump to try to prevent his tax returns from falling into the hands of the House of Representatives, in what is a major defeat for a former president who in recent years has worked to prevent this fact.

The case takes a new turn after only three weeks ago the Supreme Court itself temporarily prohibited the publication of such tax returns, until other judicial instances evaluate whether or not to accept the review of previous rulings of the Justice on this matter.

Therefore, now the House of Representatives committee can get the quickest possible way to obtain the tycoon’s declarations. Meanwhile, Trump’s lawyers believe that the real intentions of the committee are to release this tax information to the public.
