The former president of Peru, Pedro Castillo, has called this Monday «usurper» to the one who until now had been his «number two», Dina Boluarte, who temporarily occupies the Presidency, and has assured that he will not give up his mandate nor will he abandon his functions.
«I am speaking to reiterate that I am unconditionally faithful to the popular and constitutional mandate that I hold as president and I will neither resign nor abandon my high and sacred functions,» he has indicated in a letter in his own handwriting published on his Twitter profile.
Castillo has specified that what was recently said by Boluarte, whom he has called «usurper», «is nothing more than the same snot and drool of the coup right wing», for which reason «the people should not fall into their dirty game of new elections».
Likewise, he has indicated that he feels «humiliated, incommunicado, mistreated and kidnapped». «Even so, (I am) clothed with your confidence and struggle, with the majesty of the sovereign people, (and) infused by the glorious spirit of our ancestors», he added.
