Pro-Russian authorities in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine said Monday that around 4,400 civilians have been killed by Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area since the start of the Russian invasion, which began last February.
«During the 298 days of escalation, 4,376 people, including 132 children, have been killed. On the territories within the borders established before the start of the special military operation, 2,247 civilians and 153 minors have been wounded,» the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of War Crimes Issues of Ukraine has indicated.
In total, the pro-Russian authorities have registered 87 cases of human rights violations, including four against minors, and have warned about the presence of anti-personnel mines. They also stressed that 9,000 residential buildings were damaged, as well as 2,143 civilian facilities, including 111 medical centers, 431 educational centers and 59 «critical» infrastructures.
«At the moment it is impossible to definitively establish the data on damage and destruction of residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in the liberated territories during the special military operation,» he said in a message on his Telegram account, before detailing that Ukrainian forces have carried out more than 13,250 attacks by the Ukrainian Army, «including 12,944 with heavy weapons.»
