U.S. Treasury Department Secretary Janet Yellen maintained Sunday that Washington is ready to continue sending military aid to Ukraine «for as long as necessary.»
Yellen has thus responded to a question on how long the level of U.S. aid to Kiev can be maintained on the program ’60 minutes’ on CBS network.
When asked about a possible recession, due to inflation, the effects of the pandemic or the continuation of the war in Ukraine, she indicated that «there is a risk».
She has also indicated that inflation will be lower in 2023. «I am very hopeful that the labor market will remain healthy enough for people to be comfortable with their finances and their personal financial situation,» he explained.
«We are all aware that it is extremely important that inflation is under control and doesn’t become endemic in our economy. We are making sure that doesn’t happen,» he has indicated, recalling the drop in fuel prices.
