Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dimitro Kuleba has warned that the Russian Armed Forces could be planning and ready to launch a «major offensive» in the first months of next year.
«I believe that the Russian ability to carry out a major offensive may be restored sometime in late January or February,» Kuleba told the media from a bomb shelter in the center of the capital, Kiev, reports the Canadian daily ‘The Globe and Mail’.
According to the Foreign Minister, the reconquest of Kherson by Ukraine was a hard blow for Russia, although he considers that the Russian military capabilities could be reinforced by the mobilization announced in September, the new training and the new heavy weapons.
On the other hand, Kuleba has insisted that Ukraine’s main objective is to restore the country’s energy infrastructure, severely damaged by the continuous attacks of the Russian Armed Forces.
«The aim (of Russia) is to destroy the Ukrainian energy system and leave millions of people without access to electricity, water and heating in sub-zero temperatures», denounced the Ukrainian diplomat.
