North Korea announced Monday that it has conducted a «final stage» test at its rocket launch facility to put a military reconnaissance satellite into orbit in April next year.
The test «aims to evaluate the capability of photography, satellite data, transmission systems and ground control system,» North Korean news agency KCNA reports.
Thus, the satellite, which has various types of cameras and batteries, was tested from a high angle at an altitude of 500 kilometers.
The National Aerospace Development Administration, after confirming the main technical indexes, has clarified that this is a «major success», allowing it to move on to the final test phase for the launch, which it expects to occur on April 1, 2023.
