South Korea will require travelers from China to show a PCR test or a negative COVID-19 antigen test performed within 48 hours prior to arriving in the country, all in the face of loosening restrictions and an increase in positive cases in the Asian giant.
Seoul joins other countries such as Italy, the United States, Japan and India in imposing restrictions due to an increase in coronavirus infections in China, according to Yonhap news agency.
Likewise, passengers coming from China will be obliged to undergo a PCR test during the first day of their arrival, according to a press conference held by South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck Soo.
According to Han, the South Korean government has «inevitably» had to strengthen some anti-virus measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the country, as the COVID-19 situation in China is worsening.
Also, South Korea will temporarily suspend China-bound flights, while all flights from the Asian giant will be forced to arrive at Incheon International Airport for proper containment management, as detailed by the aforementioned agency.
