The President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, has revoked this Sunday more than a dozen decrees signed during the government of his predecessor, Jair Bolsonaro, in one of his first acts after taking office as Brazilian President.
Lula, on the one hand, has determined that the General Controller of the Union (CGU) would have to reevaluate within 30 days the secrecy imposed for 100 years to documents and information of the Public Administration, a decision of the previous Executive.
The President has also reestablished the functioning of the Amazon Fund, while the fight against deforestation has been decreed and a measure on illegal mining has been repealed.
On the other hand, the newly appointed leader of Brazil has suspended the issuance of new permits for the possession of weapons, as well as the authorization of new shooting clubs.
The Brazilian leader has signed several provisional measures, one of which guarantees the payment of 600 Brazilian reais (106 euros) to families enrolled in the current Auxilio Brasil program, now renamed Bolsa Familia; the second extends the tax exemption on fuels; and the third restructures the government by increasing the number of ministries.
In addition, Lula has ordered his ministers to submit proposals to remove public companies such as the oil company Petrobras or the postal service Correios from the privatization project.
